I feel that there’s a lack of accountability to the people because they are appointed by their fellow council members, and I think that the mayor being elected by the people can ensure that the people’s voice is put on the agenda with the city manager so we can get some things done that the people of this community would like. We, as a council, can change the charter or we, as the people, can put it to the ballot by initiative petition as a home rule charter.
